Course Information
Agora Medical Education presents the Advanced Gynaecological Laparoscopy Course, designed for trainees of all levels and surgeons performing basic laparoscopy. The course aims to strengthen foundational and advanced skills in laparoscopic procedures through a combination of didactic lectures, surgical videos, and hands-on practice.
Led by A/Prof Alex Ades, this comprehensive program will enhance participants’ surgical knowledge, focusing on anatomy, instrument handling, dissection, and laparoscopic suturing techniques.

Course Features
Participants will engage in:
Training in key laparoscopic skills, including surgical anatomy, tissue handling, dissection, and knot tying.
Didactic lectures and surgical videos to reinforce concepts.
Hands-on practice with dedicated pelvic trainers for each participant, using specific drills and exercises.

Principles of Laparoscopic Surgery
Surgical Anatomy
Principles of Electrosurgery
Surgical Complications
Laparoscopic Excision of Endometriosis
Laparoscopic Salpingectomy, Oophorectomy, Ovarian Cystectomy, and Hysterectomy
Pelvic Trainer Exercises:
Needle handling and loading
Extra-corporeal and intra-corporeal knot tying
Hand-eye coordination drills
Pelvic surgery models and laparoscopic suturing
This RANZCOG-accredited activity provides a total of 27 hours, broken down as follows:
Educational Activities: 16.5 hrs/ Performance Review: 8.5 hrs/ Outcome Measurement: 2 hrs

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations received more than 45 days prior to the course commencement date will receive a full refund minus $250.00 administration fees. A refund of 50% of the registration fee will be made on cancellations received less than 45 days prior to the course commencement date. Additionally, please note that any cancellations made within 15 days of the course start date will not be eligible for a refund of the course fee.
In the event of the course being cancelled for any unforeseen reason, registrants will be notified no later than 2 weeks prior to the course commencement date, and a full refund will be issued.
